Grave Dedication
16th May 2009
As part of the research into the Group’s history, it
came to light that our founding Scout Master, George Greenacre, was
buried in an unmarked grave in
With the permission of George’s son, Mr Leslie
Greenacre, arrangements were made to place a marker on his grave, for
all to see.
The dedication took place at
the grave side during the weekend of the Group’s 94th
anniversary and was presided over by the Reverend Canon Jim Robertson,
the Area Dean.
There was an excellent turnout from the Group, along
with members families and various other members from the District. The
event made the local press, with a full page in the Evening Chronicle,
